Rawalpindi police on Monday intensified operations against violations of the Rent Restriction Act, registering hundreds of cases and arresting over 1,000 individuals since the start of the year.

RAWALPINDI, Mar 30 (APP): Rawalpindi police on Monday intensified operations against violations of the Rent Restriction Act, registering hundreds of cases and arresting over 1,000 individuals since the start of the year.

According to details, a total of 724 cases were registered across the Rawalpindi region, leading to 1,054 arrests.
In Rawalpindi district, police registered 475 cases and made 693 arrests, while in Murree 33 cases were reported with 44 arrests.

Similarly, Attock police registered 102 cases and arrested 115 individuals, while Jhelum reported 33 cases with 70 arrests. In Chakwal, 81 cases were registered and 132 suspects were taken into custody.

City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani said the crackdown was being carried out without discrimination to ensure compliance with the law.

He urged citizens to report any violations through official channels, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
