He expressed these views while chairing a high-level meeting at the Home Department on Thursday to review security arrangements for the upcoming festival. The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister and Co-Chairman Bilal Yasin, Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, and other senior officials.
During the session, a detailed review of security measures and overall arrangements for Easter celebrations across Punjab was conducted. Khawaja Salman Rafique stated that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure peaceful celebrations, adding that field officers have been directed to personally monitor security arrangements. He also stressed the importance of close coordination with local leadership.
Bilal Yasin highlighted that along with security, provision of facilities in parks and strict measures against extortion should also be ensured. He said that arrangements must be finalized with the cooperation of district administration, minority representatives, and local political leadership, adding that the Christian community’s role in national development is significant and must be acknowledged through facilitation.
Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora stated that the Chief Minister always treats minorities with respect and dignity, and all institutions are fully coordinated regarding Easter arrangements.
Secretary Home Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi informed the meeting that security guidelines have already been issued and all Easter-related events will be closely monitored.
Parliamentary Secretary for Minority Affairs Sonia Asher, along with senior officials from various departments including law enforcement agencies, health department, LWMC, and rescue services, also attended the meeting. Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, RPOs, DPOs, and other officials participated via video link and provided briefings on preparedness.
