Polio campaign arrangements reviewed in Gujrat

GUJRAT, Mar 25 (APP): The District Polio Eradication Committee (DPEC) held a meeting under Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi to review preparations for the upcoming polio campaign and assess previous drives.
Chief Executive Officer Health Dr Syed Ata-ul-Munim said data from door-to-door coverage during the last three National Immunization Days (NIDs) had been examined. Special attention was also given to children missed in campaigns held in October, December, and February.
Officials said the next polio campaign will run from April 13 to 15, 2026, with April 16 as a catch-up day. Children will receive polio drops and Vitamin A supplements during the drive.
A target of 457,259 children has been set for vaccination across the district. A total of 5,169 personnel will work in the field, organized into 4,616 teams, including 122 fixed and 39 transit teams.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Saba Sahar, DHO Dr Syed Aitazaz, DDO Health Dr Usman Naeem, WHO representative Dr Sadaf, and other officials attended the meeting.
