FAISALABAD, Apr 06 (APP): The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has launched a “Plantation Portal” to monitor the “Plantation for Generation” campaign and ensure effective, ground-level implementation, officials said on Monday.
The portal will allow scientific tracking of tree plantation targets set for various departments with a goal of planting at least 100,000 trees of a minimum height of five feet within secured locations across the city.
On the directions of Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar,Director General(DG) FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhary was supervising the campaign to ensure coordinated planting and nurturing of saplings.
During a meeting to review progress,Chaudhary said that each planted tree was being geo-tagged for digital monitoring. The FDA has committed to planting 20,000 trees, including 5,000 at FDA City on Sargodha Road and 15,000 in private housing schemes.
Officials from various departments, including the Municipal Corporation,PHA,Education,Health,Forests and Irrigation as well as institutions like Agriculture University and GC University were contributing to the campaign.
All plantation activities were being uploaded to the portal in real time.
