Parvez Elahi granted one-day exemption in money-laundering case

A special court (central) on Thursday adjourned the hearing of a money-laundering case against former chief minister Punjab Parvez Elahi, and other accused until May 20, while granting Parvez Elahi a one-day exemption from personal appearance.

LAHORE, Mar 26 (APP):A special court (central) on Thursday adjourned the hearing of a money-laundering case against former chief minister Punjab Parvez Elahi, and other accused until May 20, while granting Parvez Elahi a one-day exemption from personal appearance.
The court also sought arguments from counsel on the acquittal plea filed by Parvez Elahi.
Judge Ashfaq Ahmad conducted the proceedings of the case. Parvez Elahi did not appear before the court, and his counsel submitted an application seeking exemption from appearance for one hearing, which the court approved.
Other accused in the case appeared before the court to mark their attendance. After completing the proceedings, the court deferred further hearing until May 20.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has already submitted a challan against Parvez Elahi and others, alleging money laundering and involvement in suspicious bank transactions. Pervez Elahi has also filed an acquittal plea in the case.
