LAHORE, Apr 02 (APP):A new series of westerly winds has entered the country, due to which a new spell of rains is likely to start in different areas from Thursday (today).
The Meteorological Department on Thursday has predicted rains until April 5, the temperature is likely to drop further in the upper valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while intermittent rain is expected in Murree, Galiyat and Islamabad.
Hailstorms with strong winds have been predicted in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while there is also a risk of damage to weak structures due to lightning and strong winds.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan and Mansehra, as well as wind and rain in various cities of Punjab including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Sialkot.
The Meteorological Department has warned that due to heavy rains, there is a risk of flooding in the rivers and canals of northeastern Balochistan and southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, so citizens should take precautionary measures.
