IGP pins DSP ranks on 18 officers

LAHORE, Mar 30 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem pinned DSP ranks on 18 promoted police officers during a ceremony held at the Central Police Office (CPO), on Monday.
A large number of family members, including parents and children of the officers were present while Additional IGs of CCD, IAB and Training, as well as DIGs Establishment and Headquarters, also attended the ceremony.
The IGP congratulated the promoted officers and their families and urged them to perform their duties with greater dedication, honesty and professionalism. He said that in line with the government’s austerity policy, only officers from Lahore were invited, while those from other regions would receive their ranks from respective RPOs and senior officers.
Abdul Kareem added that the tradition of rank-pinning, initiated during the tenure of former IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, would continue, noting that improved performance of the Crime Control Department had contributed to a visible reduction in crime and enhanced public sense of security.
