HEC grants formal approval for launching MS Computer Science program in SBBU

NAWABSHAH, Mar 10 (APP):Under the dynamic leadership and continuous efforts of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Madad Ali Shah, the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU) is making rapid progress in the field of higher education.

The Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, has granted formal approval for the launch of the Master of Science in Computer Science (MS Computer Science) program at the university.

The Computer Science Department has already been functioning successfully, and the introduction of this postgraduate program marks another important academic milestone. In addition, the university has also secured approval to launch a Master of Science in English Linguistics (MS English Linguistics) program in its Department of English. This development is expected to significantly strengthen the university’s academic and research activities.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Madad Ali Shah extended heartfelt congratulations to faculty members of Computer Science and English departments, including Dr Rehan Ali Shah, Dr Munawar Zardari, Dr Tania Laghari, Dr Nargis Mari, and Dr Ruqia Mastoi, for their dedication and contributions.

VC said that university’s primary objective is to promote quality higher education and research, ensuring that students are provided with academic opportunities that align with modern educational and professional requirements.

He further added that the launch of these new postgraduate programs will not only expand opportunities for students to pursue higher education and research but will also contribute significantly to improving the standard of higher education in the region.

Dr Shah expressed optimism that the faculty and students will work together to achieve remarkable success in the fields of knowledge, research, and innovation, and will play a vital role in positioning Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University among the leading educational institutions in the country.
