Govt-Ulema dialogue continues for peace in Punjab

Provincial Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique met Secretary General of Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan Maulana Qari Hanif Jalandhari at the Home Department to discuss law and order and promotion of inter-sect harmony, on Tuesday.

LAHORE, Mar 31 (APP):Provincial Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique met Secretary General of Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan Maulana Qari Hanif Jalandhari at the Home Department to discuss law and order and promotion of inter-sect harmony, on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Punjab Home Secretary Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi and other senior officials.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the overall security situation and measures to strengthen unity among Muslims.
Speaking on the occasion, Salman Rafique said that the Punjab government was taking serious and effective steps to ensure sustainable peace and promote interfaith and inter-sect harmony across the province.
He said that religious scholars played a vital role in promoting peace, tolerance and brotherhood in society, adding that maintaining law and order remained the top priority of the government.
Dr Ahmed Javed said that ulema always spread the message of peace and tolerance and guided people in the true spirit of religion.
Maulana Qari Hanif Jalandhari welcomed the government’s efforts, stating that dialogue and mutual consultation were key to resolving issues and ensuring social stability, and assured full cooperation in promoting religious harmony.
Special prayers were offered at the end of the meeting for the country’s peace and prosperity.
