Gang chief, accomplice held for armed robbery in Chauntra
RAWALPINDI, Mar 31 (APP):The Chauntra Police have apprehended the ringleader of a gang along with his accomplice involved in an armed robbery incident reported a few days ago, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Tuesday.
He said the suspects had allegedly deprived a citizen of a motorcycle, a mobile phone and cash at gunpoint. Acting on technical and human intelligence, the Chauntra Police traced and arrested both accused.
The spokesman added that the snatched motorcycle, the mobile phone, cash amounting to Rs 5,000 and a weapon used in the crime were recovered from the accused.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Anum Sher said the suspects would be challaned in court with solid evidence, adding that efforts were under way to arrest their other accomplices.
