MULTAN, Mar 26 (APP): Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) officials reviewed progress on integration of e-stamp paper with FBR data systems under a landmark pilot project, initially focusing Multan with a view to plug leakage of revenue through digital integration.
The discussions took place during a video link conference with commissioner Multan Amir Kareem Khan in the chair on Thursday.
Commissioner said,it has been decided to collect all provincial and federal taxes related to property transfers at the time of registration through e-stamp paper. He added that steps have already been initiated to enable the collection of FBR taxes through the same system.
Once implemented, this system will help eliminate corruption worth billions of rupees in tax collection, while simplifying the complex process of paying multiple taxes separately, commissioner Khan said.
It was further decided that the pilot project will be launched in Multan, followed by its expansion across Punjab.
Commissioner emphasized that digital integration will significantly enhance transparency and reduce chances of corruption, while stressing the need for immediate rectification of any technical flaws to ensure the system remains efficient and reliable.
