Court orders properties confiscation of  47 absconders in GHQ attack case

A Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday ordered the implementation of sentences awarded to 47 proclaimed offenders in the GHQ attack case and directed authorities to confiscate their properties.

RAWALPINDI, Mar 09 (APP): A Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday ordered the implementation of sentences awarded to 47 proclaimed offenders in the GHQ attack case and directed authorities to confiscate their properties.
The court issued directives to the deputy commissioners concerned, including the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, to initiate legal proceedings for the seizure of the properties of the convicted absconders.
According to the court order, all deputy commissioners have been instructed to confiscate the assets of the accused and submit compliance reports before the court. Police authorities were also directed to intensify efforts to arrest the proclaimed offenders.
It is pertinent to mention that on March 7, the court sentenced 47 individuals who had already been declared absconders. Among them are Omar Ayub Khan, Shibli Faraz, Shehbaz Gill, Murad Saeed, Zulfi Bukhari, Zartaj Gul, and Kanwal Shauzab.
The court awarded each convict 10 years of imprisonment, imposed a fine of Rs500,000, and ordered the confiscation of their properties.
