LAYYAH, Mar 17 (APP):Authorities have taken strict action against illegal deductions from the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) payments, blocking the device of a retailer involved in malpractice.
According to BISP sources, Assistant Director BISP Layyah, Jahanzeb, conducted a raid in Ehsanpur following complaints that deserving women were being unlawfully charged Rs1,000 from their aid. During the operation, a retailer at Fayyaz Mobile Shop was caught red-handed deducting money from beneficiaries.
The Assistant Director immediately ordered the blocking of the retailer’s device, halting further transactions.
He warned that the crackdown against such exploitation has been intensified, and any retailer found involved in illegal deductions will face strict legal action along with permanent device suspension.
