ATC grants 11-day physical remand of sessions court shooting suspect

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday granted 11-day physical remand of a suspect arrested in connection with a firing incident inside Sessions Court Lahore.

LAHORE, Mar 27 (APP):An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday granted 11-day physical remand of a suspect arrested in connection with a firing incident inside Sessions Court Lahore.
ATC Judge Shahid Sikandar passed the order after police produced accused Nadeem Akhtar before the court and sought his 30-day physical remand for further investigation.
The police informed the court that the accused was required to undergo a photogrammetric test as part of the investigation.
Police alleged that the accused was a hired shooter who carried out the attack after receiving payment and had been assigned the task of killing two murder case suspects who had appeared in court for hearing.
The police stated that Saad sustained one bullet wound to the abdomen and two bullets to his legs, while a passerby identified as Usman was also injured.
The investigators said the shooter had come to target Saad and Faizan. Faizan was in custody at the time, while Saad was on bail.
Subsequently, the court handed over the suspect into police custody on 11-day physical remand and ordered his production upon expiry of remand term.
Islam Pura Police Station had registered a case against Nadeem Akhtar and others.
