LAHORE, Apr 01 (APP):A total of 87 rescuers, including seven women, from Balochistan passed out after completing professional training at the Emergency Services Academy (ESA) Lahore during a ceremony held on Wednesday.
Secretary ESA Dr Rizwan Naseer administered oath to the graduating rescuers.
Balochistan Senior Minister for Health Bakhat Muhammad Kakar attended the ceremony as chief guest and appreciated the Punjab government for providing free, high-quality training to rescuers from Balochistan.
Provincial Minister for Health Khawaja Salman Rafique said that Rescue 1122 had become a symbol of public service and remained at the forefront during emergencies, adding that modern training facilities were helping strengthen national unity by bringing youth from all provinces onto one platform.
Dr Rizwan expressed confidence that the trained rescuers would effectively serve the people of Balochistan during emergencies. He highlighted that since its inception in 2004, Rescue 1122 had rescued over 19.2 million people, responded to more than 279,000 fire incidents, and saved assets worth over Rs770 billion through timely response.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from Punjab and Balochistan, including health authorities and emergency services officers, along with families of the graduating rescuers.
During the event, cadets demonstrated professional skills through mock exercises, while outstanding performers were awarded shields and certificates.
