6,000 cops deployed for PSL-11 security in Lahore

Punjab Police have completed comprehensive security arrangements for the holding of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 in Lahore, with over 6,000 officers and personnel deployed to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for players, officials, and cricket fans.

LAHORE, Mar 26 (APP): Punjab Police have completed comprehensive security arrangements for the holding of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 in Lahore, with over 6,000 officers and personnel deployed to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for players, officials, and cricket fans.
According to spokesperson, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, said full coordination has been established with the Pakistan Cricket Board, district administration, and other security agencies to implement foolproof arrangements at every level.
The spokesperson said that a total of 22 matches will be played in Lahore during PSL-11, with the inaugural match taking place today at Gaddafi Stadium between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kings. Security measures include search, sweep, combing, and intelligence-based operations around players’ residences, team routes, and stadiums.
The IGP Punjab instructed that security remain on high alert throughout the matches, with additional wardens deployed to maintain smooth traffic flow. Continuous monitoring of stadiums, hotels, and team routes will be ensured through Safe Cities Authority cameras.
Specialized teams, including the Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit, and Elite Force, will conduct effective patrolling, while snipers will be positioned on stadiums and surrounding high-rise buildings. Pre-match traffic advisories will also be issued to ensure public convenience and unhindered movement for cricket fans.
The spokesperson emphasised that all arrangements have been made in line with international standards to provide a secure and orderly environment during PSL-11 in Lahore.
