PESHAWAR, Sep 25 (APP):With only three days left in Eid Milad un Nabi (SAWW) celebrations, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including seven merged tribal districts have decorated their houses and vehicles with colourful buntings to express their immeasurable love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBHU) on His birthday anniversary.

From Chitral to DI Khan and Kohistan to Waziristan, people of all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have artistically beautified their residences, shops, markets, bazaars and vehicles with colourful fancy lighting and buntings besides green flags to celebrate 12th Rabiul Awal with great religious enthusiasm on Friday.

“I completed the decoration of my house with colourful buntings and fancy green lights to celebrate the birthday anniversary of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) in a most befitting manner,” said Professor Ehtisham Qaiser, a resident of Wapda Town Peshawar while talking to APP on Monday.

“The arrival of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was a great blessing for the entire humanity, and it was our collective duty to celebrate the historic day with great religious enthusiasm,” he said.

Maulana Tayyab Qureshi, Chief Khateeb KP said that the life and Seerah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the beacon of light of entire mankind. He said 12 Rabiul Awal was a significant day of realization for entire humanity including Muslim Ummah that Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) was sent for their reformations, so they must follow His (PBUH) Seerah for peace, brotherhood, kindness, and progress and prosperity in this world and hereafter.

“Before the advent of Islam, Arabs were deprived of all human, political, social and economic rights in the Arabian Peninsula where the custom of slavery, burial of female infants alive, worship of idols and tribal guerrilla warfare for petty issues were common phenomena,” he said.

He said slavery was a common practice in the Arab peninsula where slaves were sold like animals, and the rate of interest charged by capitalists and money launderers on loans was exorbitant. Women were deprived of all rights including inheritance in property and maltreated besides the ugly practices of burying female infants alive and worship of idols and statues built from stones and woods were in fashion.

In that era of ignorance and darkness, he said the arrival of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) had proved as a great blessing of Allah Almighty for the entire humanity including Arabs and non-Arabs, who had broken the shackles of slavery, and inequality, cruelty and injustice besides eliminated the inhuman practice of worship of idols and burying of girls alive forever.

Maulana Tayyab Qureshi said the life of the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a perfect example of an honest, merciful, compassionate, brave, truthful and role model for mankind, who showered peace and mercy upon all creatures’ lives on the face of the earth.

In spite of all the bitter experiences of the past, he said the Holy Prophet had set a great example by announcing amnesty for everyone on the historic occasion of the conquest of Makkah.

“Following the conquest of Makkah, the Prophet (PBUH) had neither taken any revenge nor let others harm anyone and announced an open amnesty for everyone and was called Rehmatul Lil Aalmeen for the entire humanity. After the conquest of Makkah, the Holy Prophet had demonstrated that the message of peace, love, brotherhood, forgiveness and tolerance was not for any specific community but for every creature, “said Maulana Tayyab Qureshi.

He said, “The conquest of Makkah has given a clear lesson to keep moving consistently towards the right direction with a trust in God to achieve a goal, believing in Allah’s help and promoting tolerance, high moral values and forgiveness.”

In a historical Hajjat-ul-Wida sermon, he said the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized upon justice, equality of all human beings, and equal socio–economic rights for women and declared racial supremacy unacceptable.

He (PBUH) gave the concept of Tauheed (oneness of Allah), that there was no one worthy of worship except Allah Almighty and belief in the Prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH) was the basis of Islamic faith.

The last Prophet of Allah also denounced all sorts of discrimination among human beings and declared that there was no superiority of Arabs or non-Arabs on the basis of gender, colour and caste rather “Taqwa” (Good deed) was the hallmark of superiority of an individual over others.

The last messenger of Allah declared that killing of a person and forceful possession of one’s property was against the teaching of Islam and declared such negative practices as Haram (prohibited). He (PBUH) also called for honouring human lives and declared that protecting the life of an individual was tantamount to the protection of the whole humanity.

The holy Prophet restored the dignity of women whether she is a mother, wife, daughter or sister and emphasized that people treat their women with kindness. The holy Prophet taught to treat the slaves with kindness and give them what the owners ate and wore themselves besides other facilities.

Maulana Tayyab said Hajjat-ul-Wida’s sermon was a perfect roadmap to establish lasting peace, and economic stability and promote interfaith harmony especially in Muslim Ummah besides making the globe a cradle of peace, justice, equality and righteous deeds.

He said the best way to celebrate 12th Rabiul Awal was to hold firmly the rope of Allah Almighty together and not become divided besides strictly following the Seerah of the Holy Prophet imperative for success in this world and hereafter.

ISLAMABAD, Sep 25 (APP): Planning Commission (PC) Deputy Chairman Dr Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan on Monday chaired a meeting of the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) that cleared two development projects worth Rs 2.42 billion.

Among others, the meeting was attended by the Chief Economist, Members Planning Commission and representatives from the various ministries, a news release said.

The forum cleared Programme for Flood Response through Reconstruction of Education Facilities in Sindh worth Rs1,566.628m and Operational Improvement of Federal Investigation Agency in AML/CFT, Counter Terrorism Wing & Case Management System worth Rs 858.577m.

Under the Programme for Flood Response through Reconstruction of Education Facilities, the Sindh government wanted to meet the need to reduce the dropout and increase enrollment.
For this purpose, the government has planned to establish at least 500 elementary schools in the province.

The Sindh Education and Literacy Department (SELD) has undertaken multiple initiatives securing development partners’ assistance for the upgradation.

It brought in ‘innovative approaches’ through technical assistance with a targeted focus on improving girls’ education, girls’ retention and successful transition from primary to secondary education.

The project has been conceived, considering that the number of elementary schools is much lower than the primary schools in rural Sindh.

Under the Operational Improvement of Federal Investigation Agency in Anti-Money Laundering & Counter Financing Terrorism (AML/CFT) project, the Ministry of Interior envisaged revamping of Counter Terrorism Wing, enabling it to act as the Federal Level Counter Terrorism Wing to enforce the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.

It also aims at dealing with transnational & inter-provincial mandates to combat terrorism and terrorist financing, identifying criminals’ networks that recruit/engage/hire Pakistani youth for violence, bringing Pakistan out of the grey list, countering national and transnational terrorism threats, enhancing overall security at national, regional and global levels.

The project would also serve the purpose of improving mechanisms for making assessments of the threats of terrorism at the national level, achieving the international standards of transparency and accountability through state-of-the-art law enforcement agency; assessing, scrutinizing and disseminating the financial intelligence shared by FMU, carrying out efficient criminal prosecution and prosecution of the perpetrators, accomplices, and other persons who are in any way linked with money laundering and terrorist financing.
