ISLAMABAD, Feb 17 (APP):A high-level delegation from World Bank Group (WBG) expressed their strong optimism on the progress of the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP) during their visit and briefing at NADRA Headquarters. Funded by the World Bank, the DEEP initiative aims to accelerate digitization of Pakistan’s economy.
Strengthening digital identity systems, promoting financial inclusion and enhancing citizens’ access to essential government services through National Data Exchange Layer (NDEL) portals and applications are the main features of the project.
NADRA officials presented an update on key initiatives and milestones achieved under the DEEP project. They highlighted how the project will improve the digital public infrastructure of Pakistan. It will empower citizens with secure and accessible digital IDs, enabling seamless interaction with government services and financial institutions.
The World Bank team commended NADRA for its significant progress in executing the DEEP initiatives particularly for building a robust digital identity framework.
