ISLAMABAD, Jan 3 (APP):In a significant investigative breakthrough, Wah Cantt Police on Saturday announced the arrest of a prime suspect in the gruesome honour killing of a married woman, allegedly murdered at her father’s residence in the Lalazar area of Wah Cantonment. The case, which sent shockwaves through the locality, is now unfolding as a meticulously planned crime with both local and overseas links.
According to police officials, the victim, Samira Aziz, had reportedly been brought to Pakistan from Qatar before being brutally killed in the presence of her family members. Investigations reveal that the murder was allegedly instigated through persistent video calls by her husband, Suleman, and uncle, Imtiaz, both residing in Qatar. Acting on these alleged instructions, family members in Pakistan are believed to have executed the crime, underscoring the transnational nature of the conspiracy.
Police further disclosed that suspect Israr has been taken into custody, while intensive raids are underway to apprehend other main accused, including Walid, along with their accomplices. The probe indicates that the victim’s father, two uncles, an aunt, and other close relatives were actively involved, while suspects Walid, Israr, and Sabir allegedly participated in premeditated consultations prior to the murder. Authorities have vowed to pursue all culprits relentlessly and bring them to justice, regardless of their location.
