VEON, Jazz CEOs visit NEOC to boost disaster resilience partnership

ISLAMABAD, Sep 19 (APP):A senior-level delegation of VEON and Jazz leadership, led by CEOs Kaan Terzioglu and Aamir Ibrahim, CEO, Jazz visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to strengthen collaboration on disaster resilience and risk communication.
NDMA, Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik and NDMA team briefed on the NEOC’s capabilities for disaster monitoring, preparedness, and response.
The visit underscored Jazz’s role as a critical infrastructure partner in early warning systems, emergency communications, and disaster response.
Discussions focused on technology-driven solutions, including predictive AI models, real-time alerts, and resilient communication networks, aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s national preparedness and citizen readiness against
climate-related and natural disasters.
The NDMA and Jazz partnership has already delivered more than 300 million early warning alerts for heatwaves,
rains, and floods, in addition to extending active relief support during major calamities.
The delegation appreciated NDMA’s proactive disaster management approach and  emphasized private sector
support in enhancing disaster resilience.
The engagement reflects a shared commitment between NDMA and Jazz–VEON to harness digital infrastructure and innovation in safeguarding lives and livelihoods, and to reinforce national resilience in the face of growing climate and disaster risks.
