ISLAMABAD, Mar 06 (APP): The renovation and upgradation of Basic Health Units (BHUs) in G-13 and Golra have been completed, officials informed a meeting chaired by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Friday.

The meeting, held at the CDA headquarters, reviewed progress on various development initiatives and public welfare projects in the federal capital.

Senior officials including Member Administration and Estate Talat Mehmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Planning and Design Dr Khalid Hafiz, and Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch attended the session.

Officials briefed the meeting that the completed upgradation of the BHUs aims to improve access to basic healthcare services for residents in the capital.

The meeting was further informed that around 80 per cent of the construction and renovation work at the Jhangi Sayedan BHU has been completed, while the tendering process for a BHU in Sara-i-Kharbooza is currently under way.

Participants also reviewed progress on the establishment of e-libraries in public parks, with work ongoing at seven locations in Islamabad as part of efforts to provide modern learning facilities for citizens.

The meeting also discussed the proposed National Police Hospital, as well as plans to establish four emergency rescue stations in I-9, I-14, G-11 and the Humak Industrial Area to enhance emergency response services. Officials said the PC-1 for the rescue stations is being prepared.

Progress on water supply initiatives for the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi was also reviewed, including developments related to the Shahdara and Dotara dam projects.

Randhawa said the CDA remained committed to improving civic facilities and public services in the federal capital.
