Thunderstorms, hailstorms forecast across Pakistan on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD, Mar 31 (APP):The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms at several parts of the country on Wednesday evening and night.
Gusty winds and thunderstorms are expected at scattered locations in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, central and southern Punjab, Kashmir, and upper Sindh during evening and night hours.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several districts including Peshawar, Swat, Dir, Chitral, Abbottabad, and Mansehra are among those expecting rain and gusty winds after nightfall. Southern and central Punjab districts such as Multan, Sargodha, Jhang, and Layyah face similar conditions.
In Sindh, Larkana, Dadu, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, and surrounding areas may receive thunderstorm activity, while Balochistan expects scattered showers from Quetta and Loralai to Gwadar and Turbat, with possible heavy falls and hailstorms at isolated locations. Islamabad will remain dry with partly cloudy skies.
Over the past 24 hours, rain and thunderstorms occurred at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Malam Jabba and Kotli recorded the highest rainfall at 46mm each, followed by Rawalakot at 32mm, Jhelum at 29mm, Murree at 20mm, and Muzaffarabad at 19–20mm. Kalam received one inch of snowfall.
The hottest point in the country today was Mithi at 36C, with Shaheed Benazirabad, Jacobabad, and Mohenjo Daro each reaching 35C.
Lahore and Multan topped major cities at 31C, while Karachi sat at 30C, Islamabad at 28C, and Murree at 18C.
