ISLAMABAD, Mar 12 (APP): The Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Home, Zamurrad Khan on Thursday said that taking care of orphans and helpless children and providing them with the best education and training is the collective responsibility of the entire nation.
Under this objective, Pakistan Sweet Home is providing a safe home to orphans across the country, he said.
Addressing the Iftar dinner ceremony organized by the Chairperson of Sindhu Social Welfare Trust Dr. Afshan Malik at Pakistan Sweet Home, Zamurrad Khan said that the joy and happiness seen on these innocent faces by the arrival of guests and breaking the fast with the children in the blessed month of Ramazan is a special blessing of Allah.
He said that the boys and girls present at Pakistan Sweet Home are actually sons and daughters of the entire nation and this institution is a home for those children of Pakistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan whose parents are not present in this world.
He said that Pakistan Sweet Home was started in 2009 under very difficult circumstances when the country was going through a period of terrorism and unrest.
At that time, the foundation of this mission was laid with just one child, but after two months of research and planning, this institution was formalized so that orphans could not only be provided with shelter but also the best education, training and a bright future.
Zamurrad Khan said that by the grace of Allah Almighty, today Pakistan Sweet Home has become a home for hundreds of children and here they are being provided with modern educational facilities, accommodation and character building opportunities. He said that after 2014, when the place was allocated for this institution, nothing was there at that time, but today it has become a large and unique institution of its kind in the world where the mercy of Allah is present at all times. He said that since the beginning of Ramazan, daily collective iftar is being organized at Pakistan Sweet Home in which personalities from different walks of life of the country participate and sit and break iftar with the children.
He said that he wanted people to come here and spend time with these children instead of having iftar in expensive hotels and restaurants so that they too would realize that the entire nation stands with them.
On this occasion, Zamurrad Khan mentioned the city of Rawalakot in Azad Kashmir and said that it is a great city from where many capable and talented personalities have born and have represented Kashmir and Pakistan all over the world. He said that in the future, welfare projects will be promoted in different areas including Rawalakot so that facilities can be provided to as many children as possible. He said that the children of Pakistan Sweet Home are being provided with higher education opportunities and many students of the institution are preparing to participate in competitive examinations, especially CSS, in the future.
He said that he wants these children to reach high positions and play a positive role in the society and also keep the spirit of serving others alive. Zamurrad Khan said that he has made the service of suffering humanity the aim of his life and as long as he is alive, he will continue this mission. He expressed hope that in the coming time, such youth will emerge in every city, tehsil and village of Pakistan who will take forward this mission of serving humanity and spread the message of love, service and brotherhood in the society.
On this occasion, Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Tourism Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan also spoke and said that participating in this Iftar today is a source of joy for us, this Iftar is more special and important for us because on this occasion we get an opportunity to sit with the needy people and meet them. The real reward is also found in spending time with these people.
Sardar Yasir Ilyas said that the work of supporting and helping children has been going on for many years and this is a great good deed, many people are sitting here with the spirit of service. He said that Pakistan is a philanthropic nation that has generously helped its affected sisters and brothers in difficult situations like earthquakes, floods and wars.
