State tweet case: PTI leader Seemabia Tahir gets bail relief till April 2

The District and Sessions Court on Wednesday extended the pre-arrest bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Saeemabia Tahir till April 2 in a case related to alleged anti-state tweets, as police failed to submit the case record during the hearing.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 25 (APP):The District and Sessions Court on Wednesday extended the pre-arrest bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Saeemabia Tahir till April 2 in a case related to alleged anti-state tweets, as police failed to submit the case record during the hearing.

The case was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka.

During the proceedings, the accused filed a request seeking exemption from personal appearance, which was taken
up by the court.

Police officials did not present the case record at the hearing. The court directed authorities to ensure that the
complete record is produced at the next hearing and instructed the accused to appear before the court.

The court then extended the pre-arrest bail of Seemabia Tahir and adjourned further proceedings till April 2.

The case had been registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, which is investigating the
matter related to social media posts.
