ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): The Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control met on Tuesday at Parliament House under the chairmanship of MNA Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz to review key legislative matters.
The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by Fatiha for the victims of the February 6 suicide attack at an Imam Bargah in Tarlai, Islamabad.
The Committee examined The Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government (Amendment) Bill, 2025 but deferred further discussion until its next sitting. It also considered The Pakistan Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2025—pertaining to Section 5—and, after detailed deliberations, recommended its passage by the National Assembly.
The session was attended by MNAs Anjum Aqeel Khan, Chaudhary Naseer Ahmed Abbas, Ch. Muhammad Shahbaz Babar, Syed Rafiullah, Sardar Nabeel Ahmed Gabol, Abdul Qadir Patel, Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan, and Rana Ansar. Senior officials from the Ministries of Interior, Law and Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, and the Director General of Passports were also present.
