ISLAMABAD, Nov 28 (APP):National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Friday condemned the ongoing genocide in Gaza and called for immediate global action to end Israeli aggression.
In his message marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the Speaker urged the world community to enforce United Nations resolutions and safeguard Palestinian rights.
He reiterated Pakistan’s firm and unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people, emphasizing that the day—observed annually under the auspices of the United Nations on November 29—serves as a reminder of the global responsibility to uphold justice and human dignity.
NA Speaker stated that despite more than seven decades of international commitments and resolutions, a just and lasting peace in the Middle East remains tragically elusive. He noted with grave concern that the continued Israeli aggression and the persistent failure of the United Nations to enforce longstanding UN Security Council resolutions have resulted in one of the worst humanitarian crises of contemporary history.
He stressed that the Palestinian people have been systematically denied their inalienable right to self-determination, and are enduring a genocide that has claimed the precious lives of tens of thousands of innocent children, women, men, the elderly, and the sick.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq condemned the illegal and brutal blockades imposed on Gaza, which have deliberately obstructed the entry of food, essential aid, and life-saving medicines. He declared such blockades to be a war crime, describing them as “extremely immoral, inhumane, and utterly reprehensible.”
Highlighting the severe socioeconomic collapse in the besieged enclave, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that Gaza has experienced momentous de-development, critically disrupting daily life for its residents and depriving them of basic human rights, including access to food, healthcare, water, shelter, and safety.
He further noted that the ongoing genocide and humanitarian catastrophe, unfolding amid a fragile ceasefire, have displaced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and devastated entire communities. He urged the international community to uphold international law, protect civilians, and ensure accountability for the grave violations being committed.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that years of consistent advocacy, tackling Israeli propaganda, and raising the Palestinian cause at all regional and international forums have finally generated a long-overdue shift in global opinion. For the first time, even Western countries have begun to recognise and support the principled stance of Muslim countries on the Palestinian issue, acknowledging the urgent need for justice, peace, and an end to Israeli aggression.
He underscored that the State of Palestine is already recognised as a sovereign nation by 157 UN member states, representing 81 percent of the UN membership. a fact that reflects the overwhelming moral, legal, and political support for the Palestinian cause.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s steadfast commitment, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that Pakistan has always stood shoulder to shoulder with its Palestinian brothers and sisters, extending strong diplomatic, moral, and political support. As a full member of the United Nations, and currently serving as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, Pakistan continues to raise its voice forcefully and consistently for the inalienable rights of Palestinians and for the establishment of a free, independent, contiguous, and sovereign State of Palestine, in accordance with relevant UN resolutions and pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq called upon the world community to demonstrate moral courage and immediately act to end the illegal genocide, lift the unlawful siege on Gaza, and ensure lasting peace, justice, and dignity for the Palestinian people.
