KARACHI, Mar 07 (APP):In a major operation against drug smuggling in Balochistan, the Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) and Pakistan Navy recovered a large quantity of narcotics hidden in the mountains of the Jiwani area of Gwadar during a joint intelligence-based operation.
According to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Coast Guards, the forces seized 1,050 kilograms of hashish and 200 kilograms of methamphetamine (Ice) that had been concealed in the area.
The spokesperson said that the seized narcotics have an estimated value of around $110 million in the international market and were intended to be smuggled to foreign countries through sea routes.
He added that the Pakistan Coast Guards remain committed to curbing drug smuggling and dismantling the networks involved in the illegal trade.
The spokesperson further noted that narcotics trafficking networks provide organised financial support to terrorist groups, making their elimination essential.
