ISLAMABAD Mar 3 (APP):Interior Minister Chaurdhry Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday said the Senate election is yet another milestone in the democratic process and conspiracy theories of failed politicians have eventually vanished in this regard.
Talking to media outside Parliament House, he said timely holding of Senate elections is a step forward towards further strengthening of democracy in the country.
He lamented the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decision to
deprive Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidates of party’s identity, adding the ruling party (PML-N) has been subjected to ‘target- killing’.
The declaring of PML-N candidates as independents have not been
accepted by a vast majority of the people, he added.
He stressed the need for enhanced coordination between various
institutions of the country.
