Senate Chairman greets nation on Eid-ul-Fitr, calls for unity, brotherhood

Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, extended heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah, particularly the people of Pakistan and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting global peace, unity, and brotherhood in line with the true spirit of the sacred day.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 20 (APP):Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, extended heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah, particularly the people of Pakistan and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting global peace, unity, and brotherhood in line with the true spirit of the sacred day.

In his special message on Eid, he said that Eid-ul-Fitr is not merely a festival of joy but a practical manifestation of gratitude, fraternity, and human compassion. It also serves as a reminder of collective responsibilities.

He said that tolerance, harmony, and love must be promoted at both individual and societal levels to lay the foundation of a peaceful society.

The Chairman of the Senate expressed deep concern over ongoing conflicts, instability, and global challenges, particularly in the Muslim world. He urged the Muslim Ummah to set aside differences and work towards unity and solidarity.

He said the current global situation demands that the Muslim Ummah adopt collective wisdom and prudence to resolve issues and play an effective role in establishing peace across the world.

He also prayed for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.

On the occasion, Gilani urged the nation to include underprivileged and vulnerable segments of society in the joys of Eid to promote social harmony.

He further said that Pakistan’s progress and stability can only be achieved through national unity, the rule of law, and the promotion of democratic values.

He prayed that Allah Almighty may make this Eid a source of blessings and happiness for the entire Muslim Ummah and keep Pakistan on the path of peace, progress, and stability.
