ISLAMABAD, May 12 (APP):Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Media Iftikhar Durrani Sunday said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had released an amount of Rs 18.4 billion on account of rehabilitation and reconstruction of 57,570 damaged houses in five districts of the newly merged tribal areas.

The SAPM, in his tweet, termed the payment ‘another step’ of the provincial government for well-being of the tribal people. The compensation amount would benefit several families.

According to a compensation chart, placed on his tweeter account, around Rs 15.389 billion and Rs 3.055 billion had been paid for 38,473 fully and 19,097 partially damaged houses respectively in the five districts.

An amount of Rs 7,959.12 million has been paid for the reconstruction of 18,013 fully and 4,712 partially damaged houses in South Waziristan, and Rs 3,163.20 million for rebuilding of 4,902 fully and 7,515 partially damaged residential units in North Waziristan.

Whereas, an amount of Rs 3,145.92 million has been paid for 7,162 fully and 1,757 partially damaged houses in Orakzai, Rs 1,704.32 million in Kurram district for rehabilitation of 3,530 fully and 1,827 partcially damaged houses, and Rs 2,472.16 million for 4,866 fully and 3,286 partially damaged residences in Khyber district.
