The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Thursday discharged another accused in a Rs2.5 billion theft case, days after his wife was cleared of the same charges.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 2 (APP):The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Thursday discharged another accused in a Rs2.5 billion theft case, days after his wife was cleared of the same charges.
The case was linked to allegations of theft involving a domestic worker.
Judicial Magistrate Rizwanuddin heard the case.
According to the court order, there was no solid or reliable evidence against the accused, Muhammad Mudassir. The investigating officer also requested the court to remove his name from the case.
The court accepted the request and discharged Mudassir due to lack of evidence. Earlier, the court had already acquitted his wife, Rukhsana Bibi, in the same case.
Rukhsana Bibi had also filed a petition in the High Court, claiming that her husband had been unlawfully detained. The case against the couple was registered at Lohibher Police Station, where both had been nominated in connection with the alleged theft.
