Two held for visa fraud

LAHORE, Mar 06 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone arrested two suspects involved in migrant smuggling and visa fraud, who allegedly deprived citizens of Rs9.3 million on the pretext of arranging work visas for Canada and Cambodia.
According to an FIA spokesperson on Friday, the suspects were identified as Sunil James and Muhammad Ashfaq, who were arrested from different areas of Lahore during a crackdown by the FIA Anti-Human Smuggling Circle.
The spokesperson said that Sunil James had extorted Rs8.6 million from a citizen by promising to arrange a work visa for Canada.
Similarly,Muhammad Ashfaq received Rs.700,000 from another citizen for sending him to Cambodia.
However, the victim sent to Cambodia was deported back to Pakistan by Cambodian immigration authorities after his hotel booking was found to be fake.
Both suspects have been taken into custody and further investigation has been initiated,added spokesperson.
