ISLAMABAD, May 2 (APP):Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government wanted to elevate the downtrodden of the society.

The policies of prime minister Imran Khan would benefit the people of Pakistan, she stated while talking to a private news channel.
The opposition had been impeding the incumbent government in making legislation for the last five months, she said.

Expressing dismay over the performance of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), she said that if that party did not change its mindset of corruption then its leaders would be out of the Sindh province.

She said during the suzerainty of PPP, the government of Sindh, could not improve situation in health and other sectors. The government of PTI had unearthed the fake bank accounts of those people who were vendors by profession, she added.

The leadership of PPP had concealed the public money outside the country, she said adding the incumbent government had unveiled such fake account holders, she said.

The government had to search the fake bank account holders in different countries, which was a hectic effort, she said.

In reply to a question, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan had a clear mandate of people for eliminating corruption from the society. The prime minister had zero tolerance regarding corruption, she added.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said the prime minister was determined to uplift tribal areas.

To a question, she said the leadership of PPP had some flaws and personal interest due to which she had to leave that party. “I joined the PTI because as a doctor, I want to serve the nation, “ she added.

Commenting on Pakistan Muslim League N, she said Sharif family had many wishes which could not be fulfilled.

The Special Assistant to PM said, “Nawaz Sharif had sought a way to go out, while his brother Shehbaz Sharif wanted to seek exit from here to avoid corruption cases.”

To another question she said that the collusion of PPP and PML-N had bankrupt the country.

The PPP she said should focus on improving the health sector particularly in interior Sindh, where numerous people had serious health issues. To a question she said black money had destroyed the economy of the country.
