Prime minister exchanges Eid greetings with Lebanese PM

LAHORE, Mar 20 (APP):Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday evening held a telephone conversation with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and extended cordial Eid greetings to him and the brotherly people of Lebanon.
During the warm and cordial conversation, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam reciprocated the Eid-ul-Fitr greetings.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s strongest condemnation of the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon, which he said had resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives and caused injuries and displacement of civilians.
He expressed firm solidarity with the government and people of Lebanon in these difficult circumstances and reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The prime minister also called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and underscored the need for dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace and stability in the region.
Recalling the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Lebanon, both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination in the days ahead.
