ISLAMABAD, Dec 9 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday termed Djibouti an important partner in Pakistan’s Africa policy during a call on paid at him by Ambassador to Djibouti, Aqsa Nawaz here at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The President congratulated her on the new role and said he looked forward to stronger ties with Djibouti, a Presidency’s news release said.
He noted that the relationship rests on shared faith, cultural ties and regional proximity, and said the opening of Pakistan’s Mission in Djibouti in 2022 showed Pakistan’s long-term commitment.
He welcomed the coordination between the two countries at the UN and the OIC, and called for deeper cooperation in agriculture, education, tourism, trade, logistics and maritime sectors.
The president expressed confidence that during her tenure the two countries would deepen people to people ties and advance a stable, forward looking partnership.
