ISLAMABAD, Mar 3 (APP):Minister of State for Finance, Rana Muhammad Afzal Saturday said that clinching majority seats by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) backed candidates in Senate elections would further strengthen democratic system in the country.
Talking to a private news channel, he said the PML-N would continue politics with responsibility and invite all the
independent candidates to join the party for further improving the system.
Commenting over absence of Imran Khan from Senate elections, he said it was strange that Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI),
leader avoided to use the right of vote for his own party candidate contesting for Senate elections.
To a question, he said that PML-N candidates had secured maximum votes than Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Expressing optimism, he said that Chairman of the Senate would be elected from PML-N and appreciated the independent candidates for not leaving PML-N in lurch.
Rana Muhammad Afzal hoped that all the independent candidates would join the PML-N in days to come, for further
strengthening the democratic system in the country.
