ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (APP):Her Excellency Henny Fokel de Vries, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Pakistan, held a farewell meeting with Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, marking the conclusion of her diplomatic tenure in the country.
During the meeting, the Federal Minister warmly welcomed the outgoing ambassador and praised her pivotal role in enhancing bilateral relations and fostering deeper cooperation between Pakistan and the Netherlands. He particularly appreciated her contributions to promoting dialogue on human rights and advocating for the protection of minority communities during her tenure.
Senator Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to upholding human rights as enshrined in the Constitution and aligned with international obligations. He also briefed the Ambassador on Pakistan’s ongoing initiatives aimed at countering intolerance and promoting social cohesion.
In response, Ambassador de Vries thanked the Government of Pakistan for its support and hospitality throughout her assignment.She lauded the constructive and consistent engagement on key human rights issues and reaffirmed the Netherlands’ continued support for programs that promote inclusion, tolerance, and democratic values in Pakistan.
The meeting concluded on a cordial note with an exchange of warm wishes. Senator Tarar extended his best regards to the Ambassador for her future endeavors and expressed optimism for sustained collaboration between both nations in advancing shared values and human rights globally.
