ISLAMABAD, Mar 30 (APP):The Secretary of the National Book Foundation (NBF), Dr. Khan Farhan Rafat, was committed to promoting literature and cultivating a reading culture across the country.
An official spokesperson told APP that the Secretary is proactively working not only to promote literature but also to address the challenges faced by the literary community.
He is holding consultative meetings with NBF staff to improve institutional performance, streamline operations, and strengthen organizational mechanisms.
Additionally, he is engaging with other literary organizations to collaborate for the development and preservation of literary institutions like the NBF.
He added that Secretary Rafat, recently met with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House in KP.
 The meeting aimed to provide a departmental briefing on the Foundation’s performance. The Governor appreciated the NBF’s efforts, emphasizing that books and reading are fundamental to the intellectual development of any society. The Secretary of the NBF also presented the Governor with a handpicked collection of publications from the NBF’s catalog.
The spokesperson further shared that Secretary Rafat was determined to expand the Foundation’s role in promoting literature and intellectual engagement nationwide.
