ISLAMABAD, Dec 08 (APP):Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Monday inaugurated the “Kashmir Corner” at the National Assembly Library here.

Federal Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Members of National Assembly and Senate, and Kashmiri leadership including Ghulam Muhammad Safi (Convener, All Parties Hurriyat Conference), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, Abdul Hameed Lone, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Muzzammil Ayub Thakur and Lal Hussain Rajput were also present at the occasion.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that “Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan”, reaffirming that Pakistan will continue to extend its moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people.He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to supporting the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at all national and international forums.

He further said, “The stance of the Pakistani nation on the Kashmir issue has always been firm, unified, and principled.”
The Speaker strongly condemned the ongoing Indian atrocities and grave human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), stressing that India’s repressive measures cannot weaken the resolve and courage of the Kashmiri people.
The establishment of the Kashmir Corner aims to provide authentic and credible information on the historical, political, and humanitarian dimensions of the Kashmir issue. The Corner features rare photographs of Kashmiri martyrs, key books on the Kashmir freedom movement, important documents, and research material highlighting the long struggle of the Kashmiri people.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the Kashmir Corner will serve as an effective research and informational resource for the youth, researchers, and members of Parliament, enabling them to better understand the decades-long struggle and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.
Participants of the ceremony expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir, while the Kashmiri leadership warmly appreciated the National Assembly’s initiative of establishing the Kashmir Corner, calling it a significant and meaningful step.
Federal Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon praised the Speaker’s initiative, stating that the establishment of the Kashmir Corner will ensure easy access to credible and well-documented information for parliamentarians and researchers.
It was also informed that similar Kashmir Corners will be established in the libraries of the Senate and all Provincial Assemblies to enhance national-level understanding and awareness among Youth.
During the ceremony, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Qasim Noon, members of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir and APHC leaders including Mushtaq Ahmed Butt and Abdul Hameed Lone were presented with mufflers adorned with the flags of Pakistan and Kashmir, symbolizing unity and the shared struggle of the Kashmiri people.
