NA panel reviews amendments, privilege motions

ISLAMABAD, Jan 29 (APP):The National Assembly Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges reviewed proposed rule amendments and considered privilege motions during its 14th meeting, chaired by Muhammad Afzal, MNA.
The Committee considered the  amendments moved by Syed Rafiullah, MNA in rule 2, 43 sub rule (4), 247, insertion of new rule after rule 39B of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007.
The Committee directed the Ministry to place these amendments in the forthcoming meeting of the House Business Advisory Committee.
The Committee considered the Question of Privilege moved by Khawaja Izhar Ul Hassan, MNA regarding filed a case in the court of Senior Civil Judge, Karachi (East) against him by Imtiaz Ali Shah, ex- Director General, Solid Waste Management Board.
The Mover apprised the Committee that Imtiaz Ali Shah, ex-Director General has directly involved by given his power of attorney to Gulfaraz Ahmed Khan to file civil or criminal case against him as MNA and other office bearers of Karachi Hockey Association and Pakistan Hockey Federation. After deliberations, the Committee deferred the agenda till its next meeting.
The Committee considered the Question of Privilege given by Wasim Qadir, MNA/Mover against the Executive Director, National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC). After deliberation, the Committee decided to dispose of the matter upon the satisfaction of Wasim Qadir, MNA/Mover.
The meeting was attended by MNAs: Azhar Qayyum Nahra, Waseem Qadir, Pir Syed Fazal Ali Shah Jillani, Shagufta Jumani, Ramesh Lal, Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan, Naeema Kishwer Khan, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Nasar (online), Malik Muhammad Aamir Dogar (online). Syed Rafiullah, MNA/Mover also attended the meeting virtually.
The senior officers from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, Establishment Division, Capital Development Authority, Sindh Solid Waste Management Board and National Vocational and Technical Training Commission also attended the meeting.
