ISLAMABAD, Mar 30 (APP):The House Business Advisory Committee of the National Assembly on Monday decided to continue the ongoing 26th session of the lower house until April 10, 2026, to ensure thorough deliberation on key national issues.
The meeting, chaired by Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at Parliament House, reviewed the agenda and duration of the current session.
The members unanimously agreed to extend proceedings to facilitate legislative business and effective parliamentary oversight.
The committee also decided that the session would take up the Question Hour along with other matters of national importance, aimed at addressing pressing public concerns and strengthening the accountability process.
During the meeting, the Speaker briefed participants on austerity measures adopted by the National Assembly Secretariat to curb expenditures.
He informed that 75 percent of official vehicles had been grounded, while all protocol vehicles had been withdrawn as part of the cost-cutting drive.
Ayaz Sadiq said that only 200 employees were currently attending office to minimize operational costs.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker of Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and MNAs Khalid Hussain Magsi, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Nuzhat Sadiq, Syeda Shehla Raza, Shazia Marri, Syed Abrar Ali Shah and Syed Hafeezuddin, among others.
