The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) on Thursday issued a travel advisory for commuters ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, announcing special arrangements and revised speed limits to ensure safe and smooth travel across motorways and highways.
Motorway Police issue Eid travel advisory, enforce reduced speed limits

ISLAMABAD, Mar 19 (APP):The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) on Thursday issued a travel advisory for commuters ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, announcing special arrangements and revised speed limits to ensure safe and smooth travel across motorways and highways.
According to an NHMP spokesperson, traffic flow on highways and motorways significantly increases during Eid holidays, and all necessary measures have been taken to manage the expected rush.
The spokesperson urged motorists to strictly comply with the revised speed limits introduced by the government in view of traffic pressure and fuel conservation measures.
According to the advisory, the speed limit for cars and light transport vehicles (LTVs) on motorways has been set at 100 km/h, while public service vehicles (PSVs) and heavy transport vehicles (HTVs) must not exceed 90 km/h.
Similarly, on highways, the speed limit for cars and LTVs has been reduced from 100 km/h to 80 km/h, while for PSVs and HTVs it has been decreased from 80 km/h to 65 km/h.
The spokesperson advised drivers to observe lane discipline, remain focused on the road, use seat belts and adhere to all traffic rules to ensure a safe journey.
He further said that travelers could obtain updated information before starting their journey through the NHMP helpline 130, official social media handle @NHMP, or FM Radio 95.
The motorway police reiterated its commitment to facilitating commuters and ensuring road safety during the festive period.
