Mobile application for moon sighting launched: Fawad

ISLAMABAD, May 30 (APP):Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Thursday said the government had developed and launched mobile application for moon sighting today.
Talking to a private news channel, he said Lunar Calender would be helpful to end controversy over moon sighting, if implemented. Prime Minister Imran Khan had appreciated Lunar calender’s initiative and step, he added.
The minister said he had sought guidance of Islamic Ideological Council (IIC) in written regarding implementation of lunar calender in the country.
He said all the possible measures had been taken by his ministry for the promotion and projection of new technologies in the country as the PTI government wanted to digitalize the country with modern technological equipments.
Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the opportunities would be given to the students for bringing technological innovation and to mobilize them in this regard.
Replying to a question, he said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was taking kinetic steps to improve the economy, adding that all accounts would be registered and documented through Amnesty Scheme which would also be helpful to control the menace of corruption and money laundering.
