ISLAMABAD, Mar 09 (APP): Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division) Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari on Monday chaired a meeting of the steering committee overseeing the Prime Minister’s 100-megawatt solar project for Gilgit-Baltistan.
The meeting reviewed the transportation of solar panels from Karachi to Gilgit-Baltistan as well as the applications submitted by residents of the region seeking to benefit from the initiative, said a press release.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on ensuring transparency in the distribution of solar panels. The committee was directed to adopt a transparent and fair balloting mechanism for the allocation process.
The federal minister emphasized that the balloting process must strictly adhere to the principles of transparency, integrity and equal opportunity so that the distribution of solar panels remains impartial and credible.
He further directed that the balloting be conducted in the presence of media representatives and public representatives to ensure transparency and strengthen public trust in the process.
