During the meeting, both sides discussed Pakistan-US bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest. Detailed deliberations were held on the regional situation, particularly the law and order scenario in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, promotion of sports activities, and progress on the initiative to declare Peshawar and New York as sister cities.
The Governor expressed concern over the reported proposal to close the US Consulate General in Peshawar, saying that the consulate serves as an important diplomatic facilitation center for the people and government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He emphasized that its services should continue and urged the US Consul General to take up the matter with the US Embassy and Congress.
