KOHAT, Mar 9 (APP):The police on Monday foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge cache of arms and ammunition during an operation at the Indus Highway check post.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Shehbaz Elahi, law enforcement personnel intercepted a suspicious vehicle and discovered secret compartments inside the car.
A total of 19 Kalashnikov rifles, 22 pistols of 30 bore, nine 9mm pistols, 44 magazines, and more than
2,500 rounds of various calibers were recovered.
Two suspects identified as Armanullah and Yaseen-ur-Rehman, resident of Bannu, were taken into custody.
The DPO said the successful operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal arms trafficking and ensure peace and security in the region.
