Halal Food Authority inspects shelter home, food outlets in Dera Ismail Khan

On the directives of Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority, Kashif Jilani, a team of the Halal Food Authority conducted inspections of a shelter home and a rehabilitation centre in Dera Ismail Khan to review food safety and hygiene standards during the holy month of Ramazan.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN , Mar 07 (APP):On the directives of Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority, Kashif Jilani, a team of the Halal Food Authority conducted inspections of a shelter home and a rehabilitation centre in Dera Ismail Khan to review food safety and hygiene standards during the holy month of Ramazan.

During the inspection, officials examined food handling conditions and overall cleanliness at the facilities to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

The team also analyzed samples of cooking oil collected from various food outlets. During the process, around 25 litres of substandard and rancid oil were confiscated and disposed of to prevent its use in food preparation.

According to officials, outlets whose samples met the required standards were encouraged, while those found violating regulations were summoned to the authority’s office for legal action.

Deputy Director Sajjad Ahmad said that such inspections would continue to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public, particularly during the holy month of Ramazan.
