DC launches spring tree plantation drive, sets target of 400,000 saplings

BAJAUR, Mar 06 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Bajaur Shahid Ali Khan on Friday planted a sapling at the Governor Cottage here to mark the ongoing spring tree plantation campaign in the district, setting a target of planting 400,000 saplings during the current season.

Under the Spring 2026 plantation drive, the district administration has set a target of planting a total of 400,000 saplings across Bajaur with the aim of reducing environmental pollution and promoting a greener environment.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner directed the District Forest Officer and other administrative officials to ensure effective implementation of the plantation campaign across the district.

He also instructed the authorities concerned to take strict measures to prevent illegal cutting of forests and ensure legal action against those found involved in violations.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief) Ashrafuddin, District Forest Officer Bajaur Muhammad Rashid and officials of the Forest Department were also present on the occasion.
