ISLAMABAD, Jan 27 (APP):Senior lawmaker and Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz held talks with Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Hamzah Humayun to address persistent traffic congestion on Lehtrar Road and Park Road, two of the busiest routes in the federal capital.
An official told APP on Tuesday that the meeting focused on identifying practical and long-term solutions to reduce daily traffic jams on these roads, which have become a routine source of inconvenience for commuters. Focal Person Chaudhry Waseem Numberdar was also present during the meeting.
During the discussion, Raja Khurram Nawaz highlighted the serious difficulties faced by citizens due to frequent traffic congestion. He said that office-goers, students and patients often struggle to reach their destinations on time because of traffic jams, adding that public convenience must remain a top priority.
He stressed that traffic congestion on Lehtrar Road and Park Road has become a regular issue and requires immediate and sustainable measures to provide relief to residents of the area.
CTO Islamabad Hamzah Humayun assured the senior lawmaker that Islamabad Traffic Police would soon take concrete steps to improve traffic flow on both roads.
He said additional traffic personnel would be deployed and a comprehensive traffic management plan would be implemented to address the problem in phases.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that close coordination between elected representatives and traffic police would help ease congestion, improve traffic management and provide much-needed relief to citizens in Islamabad.
