ISLAMABAD, Oct 22 (APP):Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Syed Mustafa Kamal has stressed the importance to create awareness in women for early detection of breast cancer in the country.
Addressing a press conference at the Cancer Screening Centre of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), the minister said that today marks an important day as it highlights a vital issue — the health of mothers.
He urged women to visit the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Cancer Screening Centre for free screening to save lives and protect families.
He urged the public to openly discuss breast cancer before it is too late, emphasizing that serving in the field of medicine is not just a profession but an act of worship.
The minister appealed to women not to feel hesitant in seeking treatment for breast cancer, stressing that early diagnosis can save countless lives.
“Every year, around 150,000 mothers lose their lives to breast cancer. By saving these mothers, we can protect 150,000 families,” he said.
Mustafa Kamal noted that cancer is a disease where timely treatment can make the difference between life and death. He encouraged women to visit the Breast Cancer Centre and avail themselves of free screening services.
The minister underscored the importance of preventive medical check-ups and vaccination courses to protect against diseases.
